How I Came to Love Creating with Clay
My Background
Since working for Windy Meadows Pottery in the 80's I have loved pottery. Raising five children, work, and the everyday responsibilities of life took precedence and I dabbled but never spent as much time with clay as I would have liked.

My children surprised me with a pottery wheel on my birthday in 2010 and this rekindled my love of pottery. In the past, most of the pottery I created was using the hand-built method where I would roll the clay into flat slabs to make houses and other structural pieces, some whimsical and some renditions of actual houses. But the wheel opened up a whole new world and I spent hours and hours making mugs, bowls and teapots to learn this new skill.

Eventually I began to combine the wheel thrown items with handbuilding which seemed to best allow my natural style to come through and that's what I really enjoy the most. While my primary medium is clay, I really like to incorporate other mediums, especially stained glass. I love the concept of combining the infinite possibilities of clay with the beauty of stained glass.
